Undergraduate studies at Plymouth University and postgraduate studies at Oxford University and Oxford Brookes. Has over 7 years of experience in the design and permissions of Micro Hydro Systems. Spent early career as a high school teacher before working for environmental charities and the National Parks. Has worked on several award winning low carbon initiatives including The Green Valleys, Llangattock Green Valleys and several other grassroots initiatives. Designer of projects that have won over £500,000 of innovation prize money. Recognised in the 2010 Wales Green List for his contribution to renewable energy in Wales and was made Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, Industry and Commerce in 2011 for expertise in hydroelectricity and social enterprise. He was announced as one of the top 3 Environmentalists in Wales (2010) by the Institute of Welsh Affairs and has guest lectured at universities in Europe and Asia. He is a founder and a Director of The Green Valleys CIC, TGV Hydro’s parent company. Grenville was awarded the British Empire Medal in the 2012/3 New Years Honours List for services to renewable energy in Wales.
He once completed an unsupported 980km walk through the Australian Bush without a compass!
